I know that it has been exactly two months since our last blog. Well, the rest of the story begins here. Gretchen and I fly out today back to Kampala, Uganda. The road that we now travel today back to Africa will speak volumes to us as in the future of Apprentice Ministries. What I did not expect on my trip to Africa in August was the change of heart and passionate vision in which the Lord gave me. That being said, the rest of the story begins.

Pray for Gretchen and I as we meet with my classmate Arthur Magezi and his family to pray for God’s guidance and clarity in we will partner more closely in supporting their 103 rural churches throughout Uganda and Congo. Pray that as Rich Gibbs from our ministry board, who will join us, will see the work needing to be done and begin to enlist groups of short term missionaries from the Midwest each year to come and serve.

Pray that God will open the doors of provision needed to build a training facility for all the new pastors and Christian leaders. Pray that God would provide the vehicles needed to support the villages in their spiritual and counseling needs. And, pray that God would provide in finishing to purchase the 12 acres of land that will feed hundreds of village families.

My brother Arthur Magezi has a passionate heart for the lost and is probably the most generous soul I have ever met. Our heart at Apprentice Ministries is to support him in any way possible to build up people through meeting their physical, emotional and spiritual needs. Through Arthur and through the Lord, I have come to love Uganda as I love my own family.

So, I will wait upon the Lord. But, as I wait, I will serve Him, love on His precious people of Uganda, and look for where God will place Apprentice Ministries in the future. The road to Kampala has been eye opening and filled with prayer. So pray for us as we consider God’s location for our family. Yep, the road to Kampala remains not yet answered, but filled with the most beautiful people I have ever come to know.

Pray for Uganda. Pray for us.

All for the Kingdom,

Dan and Gretchen Jester
